My name is Robin and I am an alcoholic. Welcome to the sober 360 blog! I celebrated ten years clean-and-sober yesterday! I spoke at the North Scottsdale Fellowship Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was a very special day for me, causing me to reflect greatly upon my life and place in the universe. The last ten years have been a great gift and I owe it all to the 12 Steps of AA.I was recently thinking about the relationship that Dr. Carl Gustav Jung played in the Genesis of Alcoholics Anonymous. I know that Dr. Jung was a great friend and supporter of early AA. I also think that Dr. William D. Silkworth, author of The Doctor's Opinion, corresponded with Dr. Jung extensively.I found this really cool video on YouTube that speaks about Dr. Jung and his contribution to early AA."Therefore nothing can matter more to the future welfare of AA than the manner in which we use this colossus of communication. Used unselfishly and well, the results can surpass present imagination."-Bill W., AA Grapevine 1960

A recent copy of Reader's Digest has a couple of articles on Alcoholics Anonymous. The crux of the articles is that the famous 12 Steps, don't work at all. Apparently, there's no data to support the claim that Alcoholics Anonymous is successful at getting people to stop drinking. From my own experience, the 12 Steps, shut down the critical thinking section of ones brain. What do you think? Comments are welcome!!PEACE BE WITH YOUMICKY
